The two firms have paired off to produce a new, hosted UC solution called V2Connect, which combines aspects of Polycom's Open Collaboration Network strategy with BroadSoft's VoIP app programme.
The new channel programme will be available during calendar Q2, and partners signing up will be trained to host and manage V2Connect on behalf of both enterprise and midmarket users.
"The CaaS [Communications as a Service] model benefits all parties in the value chain," said Polycom CEO Robert Hagerty. "End customers will experience multimedia UC in a new, innovative manner; VAR and SI partners can enhance their offering,s, increase their margins and improve customer service."
Polycom's latest partnership comes during a busy week for the vendor, which is currently squaring up to the combined muscle of Cisco and Tandberg. At the end of last week it signed a reseller agreement with Siemens Enterprise Networks, and last Monday it hooked up with infrastructure specialist Juniper Networks.
