Hewlett-Packard has named Paul Hunter as the channel director for its Personal Systems Group, replacing Dave Poskett in a role he held on an interim basis.
The US tech monster has informed partners that Hunter has been elevated from director for category management in the PC business unit but his replacement has yet to be confirmed.
His remit covers all corners of the PSG channel including distribution and retail, the latter being an area that HP has failed to exploit in the recession as the only major growth segment in the UK PC market this year.
Former channel boss Dave Poskett was unveiled to resellers in October as channel director for PSG but subsequently he is understood to have taken on a “planning role” that includes the UK and the Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa (MEMA).
The Solutions Partner Organisation, HP's over-arching channel operation across Europe, has become an administrative shell apportioning partners’ rebate claims and marketing development funds.
HP refused to comment on individual’s movements.
