According to a report from a number of specialist employment groups, includingthe Chartered Management Institute, an in-depth analysis of six quarters worth of the Labour Force Survey,those with professional qualifications were rewarded in earnings.
Over a lifetime the benefit of holding professional qualificationswas priced at £81,000 and there was also an increase in the prospects forlong-term employment prospects.
Charles Tilley, chief executive of CIMA and chair of theConsultative Committee for Professional Management Organisations, said thatthere had to be more encouragement for people to go beyond academicqualifications.
“Driving up the demand for professionalism in the UK has thepotential to be immense. Not only can individuals benefit at a personallevel, but the spill-over effect brought about by influencing team members canhave a huge impact on UKproductivity,” he said.
Resellers that invest in gaining industry qualificationshave often pointed to them as a source not just of customers but also as a wayof standing out from the competition.
