Clearswift aims at rivals with trade-in deal

It is becoming quite a trend for vendors to encourage theirresellers to target rivals in order to hit growth targets in a flat market bytaking share.

 

The latest to follow in the footsteps of the likes ofMicrosoft and NetSuite, which have targeted rivals for share in the last fewmonths, is Clearswift.


The url filtering specialist is is aiming its sights on Blue Coat and SurfControl customers offering a trade-in dealwhich runs to the end of the year.


The deal means its rivals customers only have topay out for support and update subscriptions with the hardware free if theyswap the web appliance they are currently using.

 

Jesper Frederiksen, vice president of global sales atClearswift, talked about the benefits of choosing its products but didn’t gointo a great deal of rival bashing.

 

The vendor is optimistic that once given the chance to savesome money and try and alternative additional market share will be secured.;
