Network access vendor ZyXEL is to make a move on the IP-CCTVsector after signing a partnership agreement with specialist surveillance kitdisti and Panasonic house CCTV Center.
Under the terms of the agreement, ZyXEL will provide networkinfrastructure to sit under the Panasonic i-Pro and i-Pro24/7 IP-CCTV packagesin a deal that the partners claim will make the solutions more keenly-pricedand more robust.
Tim Cocks, CCTV Center technicaldirector, explained that a reliable network was an essential part of an IP-CCTVinstallation.
“However, up until now, CCTV planners have had little choicebut to use prohibitively expensive enterprise solutions from specialists, or tocompromise and risk down-time with equipment designed for general purposebroadband apps,” he continued.
CCTV Center reseller partners will receive discounts onZyXEL gear and get direct access to the vendor’s technical support teams, saidZyXEL UK country director Lee Marsden.
The iPro solutions offer a web-based front-end providingtransparency of operation for end-users, including event review, reporting andstatistics, alarms and system status and online site management, among otherthings.
