Web and messaging security specialist M86 Security hasacquired Finjan to bolster its enterprise credentials and SaaS operations.
Under the terms of the undisclosed deal M86 will immediatelymerge in Finjan’s operations, product and technology and its labs and maliciouscode research centre.
M86 itself is no stranger to consolidation being formed outof the merger a year ago of Marshal and 8e6 Technologies and it also acquiredbehavioural malware detection company Avinti in March.
John Vigouroux , chief executive of M86, who had held theposition of CEO of Finjan until April this year when he moved jobs, will knowall about the company that it is acquiring.
“We’re confident about our aggressive plan to integrate itssecure Web gateway into the M86 product line,” he said.
He added that the enterprise product line, experience andproducts helping with gateway security and Finjan’s knowledge of deliveringservices via the cloud were all factors behind the deal.
In response Gadi Maier, president and CEO of Finjan Softwaresaid that the merger was a good fit and it would benefit from the worldwidedistribution that was set up by M86.
