Meru picks Westcon for UK distie contract

Wireless LAN hotshot Meru Networks has jumped into bed withWestcon to provide value-added distribution services in the UK.

 

Meru, which works with Westcon in other theatres and alsohas relationships with Siracom and Sphinx in the UK, is giving Westcon access to itscomplete portfolio, which will be sold through the distie’s UK ConvergenceBusiness Practice.

 

Westcon will be targeting the kit at dealers specialising inwireless-friendly verticals, such as hospitality, logistics and retail.

 

Meru international sales vice president, Dave Kelly, saidthe pre-existing relationship meant the programme could get off to a smoothstart.

 

“Westcon offers an impressive range of voice, video and dataproducts and the addition of Meru’s wireless infrastructure will enableresellers to implement all of these applications simultaneously, and moreimportantly reliably,” he said.

 

Privately-held Meru, which does not release financialinformation, claimed the deal would enhance its competitiveness against Cisco.
