Storage specialist Quantum has diverted $250,000 marketing spend into the channel as it positions its partners for next year.
The vendor is ploughing the funds into its Alliance Channel Programme that will also be backed by increased numbers of sales leads being passed onto resellers.
Steve Mackey, northern European sales director at Quantum, said that with tough economic times continuing into 2009 it was important the vendor invested in partners.
“With difficult economic times ahead it is vital that we support our channel partners and customers as much as possible,” he said.
He added that is also marked a shift in the internal sales model with more emphasis now being placed on the channel.
At the same time the vendor has announced several elements of its partner programme designed to improve its relationship with resellers. Among those changes is project registration, solutions selling packages and increased support from Quantum’s sales team to support partners.
