Datatec-owned Cisco services house, Intact Integrated Services, has expanded into the US with the acquisition of Ohio-based Cisco practice Millennium Technology Services for an undisclosed sum.

Millennium was already an Intact partner through its INSpan global support network, but Ascot-based Intact is hoping that the acquisition will allow it to tap into a perceived need for supplementary services to support Cisco’s Advanced Technology packages.

It previously bought Singapore-based partner Intact Integrated Services Pte in November, and has plans to expand the INSpan network– which currently has 75 members – to allow resellers to provide global coverage for their clients.

At the end of 2009 Intact CEO Bob Dalton told MicroScope: “There is still strong demand for managed services that can help organisations reduce risk and protect their cost base.

“This has also been a year for broadening horizons, and we have concentrated on a number of international markets – including Singapore– which have been much quicker to recover than the UK,” he added.
