The vendor has traditionally operated in the mid marketspace but views the enterprise market as an opportunity that it can targetbecause it has competitive advantages by controlling its manufacturing processand costs.
“I think it is an opportunity and my experience is that ifyou go into a competitive situation [you can win business],” said Jon Ashley, directorof marketing at Infortrend.
He added that it had a roadmap with six products, the firstfour being based on fibre channel and the other on ISCSI, and would startshipping in the third quarter: “We are announcing the vision for the next threeyears at CeBit.”
To support its expansion into the enterprise market Ashleysaid that it would need to recruit resellers with customer contacts in thatspace and would be hitting the road to gain channel support in the next fewmonths.
To help that process the company is in the process ofappointing a global channel marketing manager that will be based in either Germany or the UK.
