Sony hands Midwich and Imago premier status

Midwichand Imago have come out of a distribution consolidation process being carriedout by Sony unscathed but C2000/Maverick has lost its right to handle thevendors products.

 

Sonyhas decided to lean on distribution to increase its IT and AV profile withMidwich handling the SMB and education space for IT and both distributorshandling the sale of products into the corporate market.

 

Intheir role as premier distribution partners Midwich and Imago are expected to increasemarket share and support Sony as it moves to increase its presence in marketsincluding digital signage.


In a statement, RajPandya General Manager for Sony B2B Channels, said that it had made the movesto respond to a changing market that was being driven by a diverse customerbase.


DarrenLewitt, divisional director at Midwich, and Ian Vickerage, managing director atImago, both talked of adding value to Sony and helping the vendor take marketshare.


C2000/Maverickwas unavailable for comment.
