Nine months since establishing its enterprise division Sage is reporting back tough but healthy market conditions for its ERP and CRM products.
The vendor set up an enterprise team last October headed by Jim Scott and since that time the recession has started to bite but customers have also started using technology to gain insight into where to make cost savings.
“A lot of customers out there who take it very seriously the benefits of looking at their data,” he said.
He added that despite some people arguing that if any area of the market is going to be put on hold by recession it would be ERP its resellers continued to grow and it was in a competitive position compared to other vendors.
“It is a more challenging market but many companies are looking at complex tier-one solutions and looking at their budgets carefully and looking to save money where possible,” he said.
Scott added that on the ERP front customers wanted more interoperability, a better user experience and more access to the data and it would be incorporating most of those changes in the next version of its Sage1000 product.
