Computer 2000 remains committed to building up its enterprise infrastructure business and is looking around for potential acquisitions.
Lee Perkins, UK and Ireland country manager at C2000, did not name the object of its interest but admitted "we tried hard to acquire a business in the last 100 days, it occupied a huge amount of effort and to be frank we gave it everything we got".
In the last few years, parent Tech Data has added €900m in incremental revenues to the business and is not deterred by its recent failure.
"Ultimately it didn't go our way but that doesn't mean we won't invest in acquisitions specifically in the [enterprise infrastructure] space in the coming days and weeks, we have a huge appetite to make that server and storage piece work."
The distributor pointed out 25% of its revenues came from the corporate and system integrator channel, some £250m in the UK. It plans to become a £2bn sales operation within 4 years, making 2% operating profit.
