Virtualisation management is becoming a discipline in its own right as more customers struggle to make the best use of the investments they have made in the past couple of years.
According to a CA survey of resellers last week management sat alongside virtualisation as an area expected to grow this year.
The survey of UK and Irish resellers revealed that 51% thought virtualisation management would grow strongly this year with spending on that technology increasing.
Colin Fisher, regional director, northern EMEA at Veeam, said that analysts were also starting to concentrate much more on the management side of virtualisation as a market in its own right.
“The next step for most customers is getting the best out of their virtualised infrastructure,” he said.
He said that as virtualisation management became more prominent it would provide opportunities for those resellers that had already sold the infrastructure.
“If the partner has a big installed base then you can get these adding on top of that,” he said.
