C2000’s enterprise network, software and storage unit Azlan is to start selling Cisco’s Smart Care network monitoring and support service over a year after the programme first launched into the UK through rival distie Comstor.

Cisco Smart Care is a key element of the vendor’s Collaborative Services channel platform, which was itself launched in May 2008, and gives resellers increased access to Cisco IP.

This means dealers can offer more network monitoring, proactive maintenance and other support services to their customers than they could through the SMARTnet service.

Azlan’s Smart Care service programme will form around three key pillars, kit discovery and assessment services; an online platform to identify and replace obsolete Cisco equipment; and lifecycle management services.

Azlan Cisco business director David Harvey said the appointment would give resellers full access to the potential of the Cisco services machine.

“They [resellers] can very easily wrap their own service sand value around the Smart Care proposition and thus differentiate their business from the competition,” he added.
