Kelway names new interim sales director

Kelway has named Nigel Webb as interim group sales director but plans to appoint him full time, presumably if he meets the management's expectations.

Industry veteran Webb gained sales experience at Nortel where he managed major accounts before assuming roles in solution selling and managed services. He has also held interim management roles at Redstone and more recently Opal Telecom.

In a note to staff, Kelway CEO Phil Doye said: "Although Nigel will initially join us in an interim capacity he will be a member of the executive team...and it is our hope that he will go on to take up the role on a permanent basis."

Alan Thompson, one of two sales directors at Kelway, leaves at the end of this month to set up a charity for the homeless but the reseller confirmed it will not be seeking a replacement.

"We have effectively phased out his role and created the new Group sales director, which Nigel Webb has been recruited for."
