The Credit Elevator programme that Computer 2000 runs for small IT resellers is to be transferred to comms dealers and retailers via its Brightstar Europe operation.

Under the Ts&Cs, mobile phone dealers can now extend their credit with the business - a joint venture between C2000 parent Tech Data and US mobile distributor Brightstar - from £5,000 to more than £100,000 over 12 months.

"The Credit Elevator gives smaller mobile dealers and retailers a very easy and accessible way to extend their credit in manageable stages," said Tanny Price, UK boss at Brightstar Europe.
Resellers can only up their credit limits by using at least 75% of their agreed line and repaying it within the agreed timeframe.

The sentiments in the economy seems to be more positive and Price said the credit scheme would allow resellers to tap into rising demand for smartphones and mobile data systems.
