Samsung has been hit with a number of senior UK resignations with display boss Dom Webb and mobile phone head Mark Mitchinson leaving the company, along with distribution manager Steve Hope.

This means that in the last five months, the vendor has seen changes at the top of all its major UK divisions with printer general manager Geoff Slaughter bowing out in December, followed by its notebook big cheese Phil Brown in February.

Distribution sales manager Hope is heading to ASUS to reunite with Brown who this week became sales director at the netbook pioneer.

"Samsung is in a bit of a mess," a channel source close to the company claimed.

It is understood that Webb resigned because of a difference of opinion with Korean management and Mitchinson had expected the UK managing director role that became vacant in January but was belatedly filled by David Song.

Late last week Samsung issued a statement confirming that Graham Long, who had been its printer boss for Europe, has been elevated to vice president of its IT division for the UK and Ireland, reporting to Song.

This position encompasses the display, mobile PC and print divisions and was previously held by David Smith - who was made redundant at the end of 2008 - and one that Samsung hinted it did not plan to fill again.

Despite confirming Long's appointment, Samsung told MicroScope that it "has a policy not to comment on individual's circumstances and we have nothing further to add to what has already been issued to the press."
