SCH Distribution has insisted that the closure of its Interchange office in Bracknell and the subsequent re-location of 30 staff will not result in redundancies however sales director Amanda Jones has decided to leave.

The six-strong Fujitsu team will move down the road to IQ-Sys' offices in Langley along with some software sales staff while the HP team - the lion share of the business - will be expected to move to SCHd HQ in Birmingham.

A spokesman at SCHd said the motivation for the move was "not cost cutting, it's about making a sales structure based around specialisations."

Unlike Computacenter which exited trade distribution last year, SCH Group has acquired a number of firms including Interface International and IQ-Sys, the latter of which will be marketed as the central hub for software sales.

"The HP capability is being re-deployed/ reinforced in Birmingham," said the spokesman, adding that it did not plan to make redundancies but admitted some of the details of how the relocation will work are still under discussion.

After 15 years at Interchange - the last nine as sales director - Jones has decided to leave the company the spokesman revealed.

Jones was unavailable to comment.
