Bell Microproducts has parted company with director Colin McGregor who has decided to start up a consultancy business.

The distributor is not far off finalising the UK personnel changes as it integrates with new parent Avnet, with Europe not far behind.

McGregor, director of enterprise EMEA, has used the period of change to strike off on his own after a decade with Bell including long spells as Open PSL - acquired by Bell in 2004 - and before that PSL.

"I am launching a consultancy that will offer self development workshops and coaching for executive managers both within and outside of the industry," he told MicroScope.

McGregor took a neuro-linguistic programming course several years ago which he reckoned had helped with his career path and planned to integrate this into the consultancy.

He added that the departure was "really amicable" and it had been his decision to leave.

In other developments, Paul Cook, one time country manager at Bell has been named as UK sales director, while Avnet sales director Laura Harman will remain in the role she was handed some months ago.
