Computer 2000 marketing director Andy Dow will take charge of the PC systems operation from next month when current incumbent Mark Glasspool moves to a European position at parent Tech Data.
After four years at the helm of the business unit, Glasspool will become the regional senior group manager for PC systems from 1 October.
"This role involves a new way of thinking, I will be moving from day to day operational management to a position that is more strategic," Glasspool told MicroScope.
He will oversee the relationships with Samsung, Toshiba and Asus across 16 countries in Europe but will continue to operate out of the Basingstoke-based offices.
The UK PC market has been in gradual recovery mode this year coming off the back of a painful recessionary 2009.
Glasspool said: "It has been a tough three to six months but as I prepare to leave, the UK PC business is in pretty good shape."
Dow, who only re-joined C2000 in April, will maintain his marketing duties but also manage the PC operation on a semi-permanent basis until a successor is found.
