Cisco has ushered in a new head of UK distribution with regional sales manager Andy Brocklehurst stepping into the shoes of Gordon Mackintosh, who has left for warmer climes to take a senior role in the vendor's global SME sales programme.
After two and a half years in charge of the two tier distribution and small business teams, Mackintosh is going stateside to lead the newly formed 'worldwide in-theatre Fast Track 2 sales team', part of the WW Velocity Routes to market unit.
Talking to MicroScope, Dominique Vanhamme, Cisco head of European distribution and resellers, confirmed Brocklehurst's appointment.
"For us it's business as usual," he said.
The networking giant has maintained a consistent distribution line-up globally - Tech Data, Ingram Micro and Comstor - but added to its UK SME partner base last year with the appointment of Micro P.
Vanhamme said he would continue to work closely with Mackintosh, as the WW Velocity sales team works with local country teams to drive SME sales.
"Gordon and my team will still be working very intensely," he said.
