Security specialist Enforce Technology has acquired the business assets of fallen managed and hosting services SME reseller Network SI in a pre-pack deal.

As predicted by MicroScope, West Midlands-based Network SI was due to sell the hosting and managed services unit today after running into financial difficulties and calling in RSM Tenon to seek buyers.

Mat Ogden, technical director at Enforce Technology - which is also based in Oldbury - confirmed it had bought the hosting and managed services businesses, taken across 16 staff and moved into the premises.

"We have tried to save as many jobs as we could as we have operated in the Oldbury area for 12 years," he said.

He said there were cross selling opportunities between the two firms in terms of technologies and customer bases.

Abbreviated accounts for the year to 31 March 2010 show Enforce Technology, which sells web and email filtering, ID Management, Authentication and Remote Access, had net worth of £16,000.

RSM insolvency manager Clive Jackson yesterday revealed he was doubtful a buyer could be found for the remaining elements of Network SI, namely its very small retail and support services unit, as they that had lost customers and had no associated goodwill to tempt anyone.
