Industry veteran Amanda Giddins has pitched up at EMC as EMEA distribution manager, months after leaving Brocade.
She spent less than two years as EMEA channel sales director at the networking vendor and joins storage behemoth EMC at a time when it is reworking its channel model to engage with partners in a friendlier way.
"Her appointment strengthens the partner team as EMC continues to develop a consistent strategy for distribution and indirect partner recruitment and enablement," said Nicolas Leblanc, EMC EMEA channels and mid market director.
The reasons for her departure from Brocade, which came at the same time as UK country manager Paul Phillips, were not given but channel sources close to the vendor reckoned sales did not match expectations.
The recent launch of EMC's VNX/VNXe range will be boon for distribution partners Avnet, Magirus and most recent appointment Arrow ECS, said Leblanc, as the vendor builds its channel programmes as part of its mid-market efforts.
