Brocade has finally filled the gap at the top of its UK management structure with Mitel's former enterprise sales director Marcus Jewell.
The UK country manager role was left vacant from October when Paul Phillips exited the data centre networking firm after eight years at the helm. He joined troubled BPO firm Xchanging as head of sales earlier this month.
On business networking site LinkedIn, Jewell confirmed that he became head of UK and Ireland at Brocade from February, but the vendor was still not prepared to make a statement to MicroScope at the time of writing.
Jewel started his IT career as a salesman at Xerox in 1995, and moved to MiTech two years later. He took the post at Mitel in January 2006 and spent half a decade at the business before arriving at Brocade.
At the same time as Phillips' departure, Brocade also parted with EMEA channel director Amanda Giddins - now at EMC - amid suggestions from sources that sales fell below expectations.
