Everything Everywhere CEO Tom Alexander has announced his resignation from the helm of the company he has run since its inception in July 2010.

The CEO joined Orange UK in the post in 2008 and as the company merged with T-Mobile he moved across as CEO of the new group.

Alexander, who is stepping down for personal reasons, will leave the post on 31 August 2011, but will stay on in an advisory capacity until the end of the year.

Alexander said: "There is never an easy time to leave a company that you care deeply for but, for personal reasons, I feel now is a good moment to step back."

Alexander's replacement Olaf Swantee has been in the IT industry for 17 years with experience in marketing for HP, Compac and DEC and currently serves as France Telecom's Executive Vice President, Operations in Europe (except France) and Sourcing.

Swantee commented: "I am looking forward to building on the successes that Everything Everywhere has already accomplished, and to taking on the challenge of moving the company even further ahead in the coming months and years."

Tim Höttges, chairman of Everything Everywhere's Board and CFO of Deutsche Telekom, said: "Olaf Swantee has a deep knowledge of Everything Everywhere's business and has been a director on the Board of the company since its very beginning, and is ideally placed to provide both continuity and progression."
