Dimension Data has become a Global Systems Integrated Partner for Citrix, formalising the partnership from existing regional relationships to make the £4.7bn services provider one of a handful of Citrix's most strategic partners, writes Linda Endersby.

The partnership will focus on extending Dimension Data's Next Generation Desktop solution with market-leading Citrix XenDesktop, to support and manage consumer devices such as iPads, iPhones, tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices within the enterprise.

DiData vice president of Microsoft solutions Curt Wheadon said: "Expanding our Citrix relationship enables us to deliver these capabilities in either a traditional on-premise, or hosted environment, based on our clients' preference."

Dave Jones, vice president of system integrator development at Citrix, added: "Dimension Data's strong capabilities, global footprint and international client base adds tremendous value to take the Citrix virtualisation, networking and cloud computing offerings to market as part of our portfolio of services and technology solutions."
