GFI software has announced a partnership deal with Sigma Software Distribution as part of its strategy to increase the number of multi solution reseller partners considerably in the next year, writes Linda Endersby.

GFI Software provides its web and mail security, archiving, backup and fax, networking and security software as well as hosted IT solutions for SMEs and this signing will bolster the distribution reach for the GFI portfolio which includes products such as GFI LanGuard, GFI WebMonitor, GFI MailEssentials and GFI EndPoint Security.

Mato Petrusic, vice president of EMEA sales at GFI, said, "The scale of reach into the specialist software space that Sigma can provide is undeniable, and will enable us to increase our reseller penetration in the UK and compete more effectively for prominent placement and customer attention,"

Sigma has been distributing software for over 25 years across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe and has trusted relationships with over 2,000 software publishers worldwide.

Petrusic continued: "We are fully committed to a two-tier channel model and to supporting our channel partners in delivering support, service, margins and reseller opportunities. This partnership is another important proof point of that commitment."

Jane Silk, head of Vendor Relations at Sigma, said that it would take the GFI products and increase the sales through its reseller base. The partnership will launch with a joint marketing campaign and reseller training plan.
