Mitel has confirmed its UK sales director, Enda Kenneally, is to leave the company to pursue other interests after a review of its top-level management.
Rumours circulating in the channel had suggested that Kenneally fell victim to a boardroom tussle between channel advocates and others who favoured taking more business direct.
However, in a statement sent to MicroScope, Mitel insisted it remained "totally committed to its channel-centric strategy in the UK and EMEA".
The firm said that it was starting to see signs of recovery in some of its markets, but it was taking "prudent action" to streamline its organisation and "effectively manage longer term opportunities".
Mitel EMEA managing director Graham Bevington is to take a more hands-on role in the UK, having spent the last few years concentrating on the firm's European strategy.
Bevington will concentrate on introducing new strategic, technological and partnership initiatives, Mitel said.
Despite repeated attempts, Kenneally could not be reached for comment.
