Resellers in the UK and Ireland believe the worst of the recession is over and this year will see continued improvement.
According to a EMEA survey of channel partners carried out by CA 81% of those quizzed expect things to improve this year and a third expect IT budgets to improve.
The annual CA Channel Index also gauges what areas of technology the channel believe will take off this year with virtualisation and cloud being the places where customers will invest money.
One of the surprise areas of investment, given the reduced exposure the subject got last year, is green IT with 43% of those surveyed expecting more money to be spent in that area.
Jose Carvalho, EMEA channel sales at CA, said that the results were a marked improvement on last year, which had been tough for resellers.
"This year there is a marked difference - with the Index showing that our partners across EMEA are now positive about the outlook for the upcoming year.
In terms of breaking down across EMEA where the optimism about rising budgets resides the UK is not near the top of the list but is part of a general surge of optimism
