HP will report its numbers tomorrow and Dell's come on Thursday but already the investment community and analysts are looking for signs that hardware spending, which was hit by the recession, has kicked in.
In terms of meeting expectations HP usually produces figures that meet Wall Street expectations but Dell has had a patchier record of late with quarterly numbers. In wire reports the expectations are already growing that both will provide evidence of the state of the market.
Earlier this year analyst houses including Gartner predicted that hardware spending, along with other areas of the industry, would enjoy positive growth in 2010.
For most of the last 18 months hardware has been talked of in terms of decline but with Windows 7 having a positive impact and users requiring a refresh the signs are of a better year ahead for the sector.
