Microsoft has turned to Computer 2000 in its efforts to recruit resellers to push its Business Producivity Online Standard suite of hosted messaging tools.

C2000 is being used Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Live Meeting, and Office Communications Online and it is also looking to develop vertical solutions into Azlan and Brightstar resellers.

A portal will underpin the programme along with some training and marketing support for those looking to get involved with the cloud.

Lee Perkins, UK country manager for C2000, said it would target those resellers with customers that did not currently use cloud based services because they were unaware of the option to extend existing licensing programmes.

"We believe there is a sizeable market out there for BPOS and see this as a major opportunity - for us and for SME resellers," he said.

Simon Gautrey, Software-plus-Services lead, Microsoft UK, said that hosted applications were expected to grow significantly over the next five years.

"With some analysts anticipating 30 percent annual growth, there are going to be some exciting new opportunities for partners," he said.
