Brocade has promoted Barbara Spicek to the role of vicepresident worldwide channels, having previously held the role of seniordirector of partner sales and marketing for EMEA.
In her new role Spicek will take on responsibility fordeveloping channel strategies and defining and accelerating Brocade's partnerprogramme as it absorbs Foundry's reseller community.
"Barbara's appointment is a timely one in light of our entryinto the IP/Ethernet networking market through the acquisition of Foundry,"acknowledged Brocade senior vice president of worldwide sales, Ian Whiting.
The acquisition of Foundry Networks closed at the start ofJanuary after a drawn-out process that at one point saw Brocade head to itsbanks to secure additional credit.
The deal, which was received sceptically at first, has sincebeen painted as a potentially powerful means for Brocade to challengenetworking titans Cisco and Juniper, especially in the 10 gigabit Ethernetsphere.
