Under the branding CA Technologies the vendor is showing its commitment to IT using the word quite a few times to describe its decision to update its image.

CA Technologies CEO Bill McCraken (pictured) used his keynote at CA World 2010 to talk about the industry being at an inflection point and the need to embrace the latest technology developments to remain competitive.

"People still ask if I think the cloud is really going to happen. I say no; I don't think it's going to happen. I know it is going to happen because it is happening now," said McCraken.

"Virtualisation and cloud computing will enable businesses to adapt to rapidly changing market and customer needs," he added.

He said that resellers would be able to watch as it rolled out products and services that were aimed at backing up its interest in the cloud and virtualisation.

"Running IT in a cloud-connected enterprise will be more like running a supply chain, where organizations can tap into the IT services as needed - specifying when, where and precisely how they are delivered," he added.
