With voice margins declining broadband provider Virgin Media Business has launched a reseller programme aimed at attracting those with the expertise in data sales.

Boasting of its fibre optic network and its plans to offer dealers a wide portfolio of products Virgin Media Business is heading down a path trodden by other operators who have courted the channel to boost sales.

The channel will be tiered at three levels, supported by an online portal with marketing information and online pricing options. There will be marketing funds for resellers in the top two levels of the programme.

Brendan Lynch, director of wholesale markets and Virgin Media Business said that pressure was growing on those that depended on voice margins as they declined and the data market continued to grow.

"We've asked the channel what it wants and the resounding response was a partner that listens and acts upon that feedback. Our Business Partner Programme gives resellers the support and extensive product portfolio they're looking for," he said.
