Headsets a product to sell alongside UC

Those resellers looking to add some margin to a unified comms sale are being urged to put headsets into their product portfolios.

Plantronics director and general manager of UK & Ireland Paul Clark said that there were revenue opportunities being missed by both data and voice resellers that missed out on providing a decent customer experience over the the last few yards of a UC sale.

As Skype, VoIP and network bandwitdh have all had their impact on the technology in the last few years the headsets have improved with wireless and noise cancelling features now available providing those working in call centres or on conference calls with a more comfortable experience

He added that the growth in conference call volumes continues to expand across different departments in the business and the requirements for headsets that provided flexibility as well as clarity was something data resellers could add easily to their sales.

"This is a big opportunity there is profit to be had," he said "If you are implementing UC then with conference calls you can sell headsets on top."

The vendor is looking to increase the number of data players in the channel it works with and widen the interest and market for headsets.
