Virtualisation specialist Veeam has used the VMWorld event as the moment to split its product range into basic and enterprise versions.
Up to now there has been a standard product but in recognition of the range of features that the vendor has developed it now has the opportunity to provide tiered levels of product.
Speaking to MicroScope Veeam president and CEO Ratmir Timashev
said that the moment was right to provide customers as well as resellers with a choice of products.
"We have been adding so much functionality that we decided to add the enterprise edition," he added that it could "justify this with advanced functions."
Veeam has chosen its Backup & Replication 5.0 product as the one that will come in two versions with the instant virtual machine recovery and universal application recovery available in the enterprise version.
