The C loud Industry Forum is on the brink of unveiling a code of practice to help increase confidence in hosted services.

The Forum will use an industry event next week to promote the code which has emerged after months of consultation.

Andy Burton, chairman of the Cloud Industry Forum, said that confidence and trust were crucial in encouraging more users to use web delivered services.

"The objective of the Code of Practice is to enable participating organisations to promote online confidence and trust in their brand to the end user community through the adoption of a set of certifiable criteria," he said.

The criteria will detail what customers can expect in terms of service levels as well as provide information about the type of company they are dealing with.

"With some experts in the market now predicting CAGR 20-35% a lot of new entrants are being attracted to the market and there is no doubt that this will force changes to the traditional competitive landscape," he said.

"That said technology alone has never changed the world, it is commercial applications and trusted business models that make the difference between novelty and real market success," he added.
