DiData buys into video services with mvision acquisition

Dimension Data has bulked up its managed video services muscle after buying video integrator mvision for an undisclosed sum.

Mvision specialises in Tandberg kit, and following the acquisition of the vendor by Cisco had made plans to become a Cisco partner itself.

Managing director Terry Dwyer told MicroScope that the coming together of the two channels was a "catalyst for a consolidator in the market".

The firm will ultimately be integrated into DiData and forms part of a plan to globalise its managed video services offering.

DiData UK managing director Ton van Horssen said: "Both companies are services-led but believe in selling a full complement of professional services, managed services and technology. Our service offerings are complementary and well alighed and the two cultures are highly compatible.

"In addition there is little overlap in our client bases so the opportunity for growth by leveraging both companies' client bases is significant," he added.

Dimension Data is itself in the process of being acquired by Japanese comms integrator NTT for £2.1bn.
