Networking integrator Azzurri has launched a new business unit to better integrate its software development arm with its traditional integration and consultancy practice.
According to Azzurri, the unit, Dubbed Azzurri Innovations, is designed to plug a gap the firm believes it has identified between mainstream comms vendor offerings and what organisations actually need to conduct business effectively.
The new unit marries together Azzuri's in-house software platform, EPIC, with its range of comms tools, which run the gamut from telephone solutions to IM and IP technology.
Increased investment will also take its Callmedia contact centre portfolio to a wider market, while a third in-house software product will enable customers to monitor and control their comms spend through an online portal.
Azzurri CTO and Innovations head Rufus Grig said the new unit would "provide us with the ability to develop products in-house and enhance the products we offer from the major vendors".
He added: "We can now plug the gaps to allow our customers to be innovative in the way they operate, so they can offer a more compelling experience to their own customers."
