Services are emerging as the area Oracle expects its resellers to focus on with the vendor unveiling fresh accreditation levels for those going the extra mile and rolling out latest recruit Mark Hurd to underline the message.
Oracle president Hurd unexpectedly took to the stage and set out his stall around the services opportunity he saw for partners.
"Services represents a big opportunity for partners to make money," he said.
To encourage more value added behaviour in the channel the vendor has introduced a diamond level to its accreditation line-up
"Partners have the ability to specialise across the portfolio to build services around it and grow in markets we don't get to, with complete solutions we don't have in our basket," added Hurd.
The diamond level adds to the remarketer, silver, gold and platinum ranks and is designed to reward those that not only have expertise but add "significant value-added services".
The expectation is that the number of diamond specialisations will increase over time with Accenture the first partner to qualify.
