Cisco's current vice president of worldwide sales enablement Scott Brown has been named as vice president of the vendor's $10bn plus worldwide distribution business, according to reports.
Brown is a 15-year veteran of the networking vendor and has been in charge of training Cisco's field sales teams and channel partners for six years.
His appointment was confirmed by Cisco global channel boss Edison Peres.
"I'm very pleased to announce that Scott Brown will take on the role. After a rigorous interview process I am confident that Scott is the right leader for this important role," said Peres.
A source in the UK distribution channel informed MicroScope that Cisco's UK distribution partners, Azlan, Comstor, Ingram Micro and Magirus have already been told of the appointment by email.
The distribution business in the UK and Ireland currently falls under the remit of Bernadette Wightman and Dominique Vanhamme on a European basis.
