Seasonal trends are re-emerging in the tech mergers and acquisitions as spending picked up after a slow August.
The survey of the last month from Regent showed there were 230 tech acquisitions across Europe with a combined value of $15.4bn.
"Valuations have maintained their steady upward movement to get back to where they were at the beginning of the year when they were temporarily boosted by the year-end rush for completions. Everything looks on more solid ground now," it stated.
Some of the highlights for September included the $1.7bn acquisition of data-warehousing appliance provider Netzilla by IBM as well as the divestment by Vodafone of its Chinese Mobile stake for £4.3bn to unidentified buyers.
HP was also busy buying security player ArcSight for $1.5bn adding to a fairly large spending total already this year on M&A activity.
