Video demand benefits Polycom

Alex Scroxton

The ongoing spike in demand for video solutions in the business world has seen Polycom book record revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2010, which closed at the end of September.

The firm made sales of $308m (£196.2m) up 27% year-on-year, while GAAP net income jumped 21% to $17m.

Video solutions accounted for approximately 67% of its sales, while voice comms made up the rest.

Hailing a hallmark quarter for the business, CEO Andrew Miller said the figures "validate the speed and precision with which we have executed our go-to-market strategy and underscore our unique role as the UC ecosystem partner of choice."
