Computerlinks named as new D-Link distie

Security and network distributor Computerlinks is to take on IP surveillance and storage kit from SMB networking vendor D-Link.

Computerlinks has lately been getting into new technological areas such as physical IP security, which has also caused a spike in demand for networked storage to back up the amount of video data generated by surveillance kit.

The companies claim that the combination of D-Link's network storage and IP surveillance portfolios will give dealers a cost-effective and flexible set-up to sell to their customers.

"There is a significant opportunity with IP surveillance and storage, especially when it comes to the channel offering a combined solution to organisations," said D-Link UK and Ireland general manager, Chris Davies.

The two firms have also devised a programme to get Computerlinks' resellers up and running with the new technology, which includes technical training, marketing campaigns, lead generation and so on.

"[D-Link's] cameras, encoders, networking and storage products ... will provide our partners with even more opportunities to deliver physical security and virtualisation solutions," added Computerlinks director of new technologies and services, David Ellis.
