Research: Optimistic channel looking to expand and grow

Resellers believe they will grow and expand their businesses over the next five years as they look forward to a post-recession market.

According to research from MicroScope in association with IBM the majority of resellers, 52%, believed they would grow their revenues over the next few years and as a result many were considering recruiting more people.

When it comes to trying to put a revenue increase on that growth most expect at least double digit with 37% expecting up to 10% growth, 25% going as high as 20% and 4% looking for a 100% rise.

To support that growth 30% are expecting to swell their staff numbers significantly over the next few years.

Jacqui Davey, vice-president of the business partner organisation and mid-market UK and Ireland at IBM, said it was "good news that the majority of respondents are positive about the future of their business".

She pointed out that the majority expected to grow over the next five years and it was also reassuring to see a healthy balance between products and services.

"The reseller community is clearly delivering complete solutions and acting as a trusted advisor to customers. This is demonstrated by the high percentage of service revenues and an increase in the breadth of product portfolios," Davey said.
