Brocade names ex-HP man as EMEA channel head

Alex Scroxton
Brocade has named former HP Networking man Alain Valluy as its new EMEA channel director, replacing Amanda Giddins, who left the company  in October.

Valluy, formerly head of Hewlett Packard's French network business, was recruited by EMEA sales head Alberto Soto, who himself joined Brocade from HP in June.

"He [Valluy] has an extremely good track record in terms of handling a two-tier channel model, and very good knowledge of the networking market" Soto told MicroScope.

Valluy is the third ex-HP executive that Brocade has hired  this year, lending weight to the assertion that it is building a hand of former HP Networking names.

The post of UK country manager - which was also vacated in October by Paul Phillips - remains unfilled, said Soto.

A number of candidates are in contention for the role, and the job is expected to be filled soon, he added.

"We have got very good team managers holding the business in the UK," Soto reassured partners. "We cannot rush the process and we want to make the right decision."
