Stone gets Apple education nod

Alex Scroxton

Staffordshire-based public sector PC builder Stone has nabbed Apple's Solutions Expert in Education certification as it prepares to exhibit at January's BETT show.

The agreement will see the firm offer the full line of Apple kit to schools and colleges, as well as providing consultancy on how its technology can best be utilised in the education sector.

"This arrangement represents a move by Stone to offer a more consultative approach," said company CEO James Bird.

"We will apply our experience to work closely with our long-standing education customers, to match the hardware device to the individual needs of the school, be it a Stone-brande dlaptop, a Samsung netbook, or [a] Macbook Air," he added.

Bird claimed that this would allow Stone to meet the evolving needs of the education market, which like every part of the public sector is coming to terms with massive changes in funding.

BETT 2011 runs from 12 to 15 January 2011.
