Alongside well-known names such as singer Annie Lennox and actor Bert Kwuok, the IT sector was handed a few gongs in the 2011 New Year Honours list.
Among the 900 recipients lining up outside Buckingham Palace will be the chairman of outsourcing and IT services provider Genisys Group, Ashok Rabheru, who becomes a Commander of the Victorian Order (CVO) for his extra-curricular work with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme.
David Clarke, CEO of the BCS, the chartered institute for IT, has been awared an MBE, and also on the list is Steve Dalton, managing director of Sony's UK Technology Centre in Bridgend, who has bagged an OBE for services to Welsh industry.
Meanwhile, games developer SportInteractive, the firm behind the Championship Manager franchise, was honoured again as its studio director Miles Jacobson also received an OBE for services to the computer games industry.
The firm's founders picked up their MBEs last January.
