SAP's global senior vice president of indirect sales, Pat Hume, has left the company for undisclosed reasons.

In a statement sent to MicroScope, SAP confirmed Hume's departure and said her role will be taken over by SAP senior vice president of volume resellers and service providers, Fritz Neumeyer.

Hume joined SAP from comms firm Avaya - where she was vice president of EMEA channels - in December 2007. During her three years with the SAP she was widely credited with giving its channel operation new prominence within the company's sales structure.

She spent two years as senior vice president of SAP global SME channels before being promoted to global senior vice president of indirect sales in November.

Hume's exit is the second major departure from the software vendor so far this year; earlier this week it was revealed that 12-year SAP marketing and PR veteran Bill Wohl is joining HP as its new CMO, fuelling speculation that she too may rejoin former CEO Léo Apotheker.

SAP, meanwhile, has been restructuring its channel operation, with a number of partners shown the door last year ahead of a fresh recruitment drive.
